A State of Mind
My enthusiasm for continuing this blog sort of died when I failed to find a way to post MP3s on here. But I've decided to push on past the hard times! So, here's the "trailer" for a wonderful film I just saw the other night. It's a film that follows two girls from North Korea as they prepare for this sporting event called the "Mass Games" (as you'll see below). Even if you don't care to understand such a mysterious country, the visuals (of the event) are incredible. Through the story, what comes through is people. Politics are partially laid aside, and through an unbiased view we get a glimpse of what it's like to live in a country that has developed on a set of beliefs that are entirely different from our individualistic and independent ideals. It's communism like you've never seen it before and it's kind of awesome.
